Asa Parlin House - Building Preservation and Restoration
Acton
22423
2
The Town-owned Asa Parlin House is located in the Acton Centre Local Historic District and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The original two-story building stems from the early 1800’s. Additions were made in the latter half of the 20th century. The project funding is for a structural evaluation, architectural design, demolition of the non-historic additions, and work required to preserve and mothball the original building. Furthermore, funding of this project shall be limited initially to the structural evaluation and preliminary architectural designs not exceeding $20,000 in total (Phase 1). The results of this work shall be presented in a report to the Community Preservation Committee. The Committee at its discretion will then decide whether or not the project is viable to proceed to Phase 2. In 2013 the Committee determined not to proceed with Phase 2.
