The appropriation funds the restoration of 18 original wood windows in the attic area and fireplace room of the 1889 wing of the Acton Memorial Library. This wing serves as Actons Civil War Memorial, and the attic and fireplace room had been designated as meeting space for the Grand Army of the Republic. The library is located in the Acton Center Local Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
